Banana and strawberry tart

Simplify dessert with a delicious banana and strawberry tart.
Ingredients:
  • 247.50 gm strawberry jam
  • 131.25 gm lemon juice
  • 2 bananas, thickly sliced
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • Vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 240°C. In a 20cm ovenproof frying pan, combine the jam and juice, bringing it to a boil while whisking. Arrange the bananas in a single layer to cover the base of the pan. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and allow it to cool for 20 minutes before serving.
  • Thaw the pastry and shape into a 25cm circle to cover the bananas. Brush with egg wash. Bake on the top shelf for 12-15 minutes. Invert onto a plate, slice into wedges, and enjoy with a scoop of ice cream.
