Make quick and delicious plant-based banana nice cream in minutes using simple ingredients. Blend frozen bananas for a smooth and creamy treat without added sugar. Customize with chocolate, peanut butter, or strawberry for a flavorful twist!
Ingredients:
  • 4 large bananas, sliced and frozen (about 4 cups slices)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons plain milk, either dairy or non-dairy
  • Chocolate variation:
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • Peanut butter variation:
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Caramel pecan swirl variation:
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 4 tablespoons chopped toasted pecans
  • Strawberry variation:
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • Chocolate chip variation:
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate, melted
Instructions:
  • Prepare the bananas for freezing: Peel and thinly slice the bananas (about 1/4 inch thick). Arrange them on a parchment-lined pan and freeze until solid. Store in a zip-top bag if not using the same day.
  • For the nice cream: - Blender method: Blend milk, vanilla, and frozen banana slices until smooth and creamy, scraping down as needed for a silky puree. Use tamper if available. - Food processor method: Process frozen banana slices until broken down, then add vanilla and almond milk. Continue processing until smooth, scraping down the sides until well combined.
  • Serve immediately after puree becomes smooth, transferring to bowls or a storage tub for freezing. For a firmer texture, freeze for 30 minutes to 1 hour, then stir. To soften fully frozen nice cream, let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving. To make variations: For chocolate nice cream, add cocoa with the vanilla and milk. For peanut butter, add peanut butter and honey with bananas. For caramel pecan, drizzle caramel and sprinkle pecans over basic nice cream. For strawberry, add strawberries and honey with bananas.
