Make irresistible deep-fried banana bites with just bananas, tempura mix, and water, perfect with a scoop of ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups oil for frying
  • 1.5 cups ice-cold water
  • 1 (8 ounce) package tempura batter mix
  • 3 medium ripe bananas, cut into 5 pieces
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan until it reaches 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, gently pour cold water and sprinkle tempura batter mix on top. Use a whisk to blend until the mixture is moistened and large lumps disappear, leaving a slightly lumpy batter.
  • Coat 5 banana slices in batter and fry in hot oil until golden, around 2 to 3 minutes. Let drain on paper towels. Repeat the process for the remaining banana slices.
  • Finish by sprinkling a delicate layer of confectioners' sugar before serving.
