Indulge in a decadent banana crisp topped with fluffy whipped cream.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups sliced bananas (4 medium)
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum
  • 3/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • Sweetened whipped cream, if desired
  • Fresh mint leaves, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and generously coat 4 (8- to 10-oz) ramekins or custard cups with cooking spray.
  • Combine ripe bananas, 1/3 cup of rich brown sugar, velvety melted butter, cornstarch, and a touch of rum in a medium bowl. Distribute the flavorful mixture evenly among baking dishes and arrange them on a cookie sheet.
  • Combine flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and salt in a small bowl. Use a fork or your fingers to mix in softened butter until the mixture is crumbly. Add pecans and evenly sprinkle over banana mixture.
  • Bake for 23 to 25 minutes until filling is bubbling and topping is golden brown. Rest for 10 minutes before serving warm with whipped cream. Finish with a garnish of fresh mint.
