Indulgent British dessert featuring chocolate, caramel, and banana.
Ingredients:
  • 200g (1 1/3 cups) plain flour
  • 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 6.00 gm baking powder
  • 330ml (1 1/3 cups) milk
  • 3 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 380g can Nestlé Caramel Top‘n’Fill
  • 40.00 gm warm water
  • 100g good-quality milk chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 2 bananas, peeled, sliced in half lengthways
  • Icing sugar, to dust
  • Double cream, to serve
  • Caramel sauce, to serve
Instructions:
  • - Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan forced, then generously coat a 2L (8 cup) baking dish with velvety melted butter.
  • Whisk flour, caster sugar, and baking powder in a bowl using a balloon whisk. Create a well in the center and add milk, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until just combined and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine Caramel Top‘n’Fill with warm water and stir until smooth. Pour this mixture over the base of the prepared dish. Add the flour mixture on top. Arrange chocolate and banana slices cut-side up. Bake for 30 minutes until just set. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and add a generous spoonful of cream. Drizzle with decadent caramel sauce before serving.
