  • 3 medium onions, chopped (1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder

  • Slow cook on low for 8 to 10 hours until the beef and pork are tender.
  • Transfer the beef and pork from the cooker to a cutting board using a slotted spoon. Use 2 forks to shred the meat, then add it back to the cooker along with the tomato paste.

  • Serve a delectable combination of beef and pork on soft buns. Keep the meat mixture warm on a low heat setting for up to 2 hours.
