Create a doll skirt cake using piped white frosting for a fancy finish. Use 4 cups of homemade or store-bought frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 2 (16 ounce) packages vanilla frosting
  • 1 drop red food coloring
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then generously grease a 2-quart ovenproof Pyrex glass mixing bowl with shortening and lightly dust with flour.
  • Follow the instructions on the cake mix box to prepare the batter, then pour it into the greased bowl.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean, then cool for 15 minutes.
  • Place the cake upside down on a cake plate with the widest part touching the plate. Allow it to cool for 3 hours before decorating.
  • Place a clean doll in the center of the cake. Decorate the skirt with colorful icing using a decorator tip to create a fancy design. Use the icing to decorate the top of the doll to complete the dress.
