Make a stunning doll cake with easy steps and be the life of the party.
Ingredients:
  • 340g packet golden butter cake mix
  • Green and red food colouring
  • Licorice allsorts
  • Silver cachous (for wings)
  • 1 green fruit roll-up, for bodice
  • 22 mint leaf sweets, for skirt
  • 200g butter, at room temperature
  • 187.50 gm pure icing sugar, sifted
  • 4.40 gm vanilla essence
Instructions:
  • Secure doll's hair using a delicate pink ribbon and adorn with a shimmering gold star before setting it aside.
  • Dip lollipop stick in gold paint. Once dry, attach the 2 remaining stars to create a magical wand.
  • Prepare a 23cm square cake pan by greasing and lining it with parchment paper, ensuring it is 6cm deep.
  • Follow packet instructions to prepare cake batter, then pour into pan. Bake for 30 minutes, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Shape the cake into wings as shown in picture 1. Transfer the wings to a cake board.
  • Dye 1/4 cup of icing green and the rest pink. Use the pink icing to cover the wings.
  • Cut fondant shapes from colorful liquorice allsorts and decorate the wings as shown in the main picture.
  • Wrap the roll-up around the doll, place the doll onto the wings, cover the skirt area with green icing, layer mint leaves to form the skirt, and place the wand onto the doll's hand.
