Basic bolognaise sauce

Perfect your bolognese sauce for endless minced meat meal possibilities.
Ingredients:
  • 36.40 gm olive oil
  • 1 large brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 750g veal mince
  • 125.00 gm dry white wine
  • 91.58 gm tomato paste
  • 2 x 425g cans whole peeled tomatoes, chopped
  • 9.00 gm white sugar
Instructions:
  • In a large heavy-based saucepan over medium heat, warm oil. Saute onions and garlic until soft, stirring frequently for about 5 minutes. Brown the mince by stirring with a wooden spoon for approximately 5 minutes. Pour in wine and tomato paste, cook for an additional minute. Mix in tomatoes and sugar, bring the mixture to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
