Savory basmati rice and crispy fried noodles with fresh parsley - a versatile and delicious base for any meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup uncooked basmati rice, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package uncooked fideo noodles
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, bring basmati rice, 2 cups of water, and salt to a boil over high heat. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm olive oil. Add fideo noodles in a single layer, stirring occasionally until they turn a rust-brown color. Pour in 1/2 cup of water, bring to a boil, then simmer until noodles are tender and water is absorbed, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Fluff the fluffy basmati rice with a fork, then delicately combine with the cooked fideo and parsley. Season with salt to your liking.
