Decadent Bavarian cream - a luscious vanilla mousse made with creamy milk, rich egg yolks, and delicate gelatin. Ideal for elevating any dessert creation.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream
Instructions:
  • Combine cold water and gelatin in a small bowl and let it sit to soften.
  • Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl until smooth.
  • Boil milk in a saucepan until hot. Gradually pour hot milk into yolk mixture while whisking. Cook mixture in the saucepan over medium heat until slightly thickened and coats the back of a spoon. Strain into a bowl. Stir in softened gelatin and vanilla until gelatin is melted. Let it cool to room temperature.
  • Beat the heavy cream until medium peaks form. Gently mix it into the chilled custard and promptly pour into serving glasses, molds, or over cake layers before the gelatin sets. Chill in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour before enjoying.
