Elevate your dinner with this delectable beef pie.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 300g beef mince
  • 140g tub tomato puree
  • 125ml passata
  • 125ml beef stock
  • 150g pea
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper
  • Olive oil spray for greasing
  • 4 sheets frozen shortcrust pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
Instructions:
  • Heat the oven to 200°C.
  • In a hot oiled pan, sauté onion until soft. Add mince and cook until browned. Stir in tomato puree, passata, and stock. Bring to a boil, then simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Mix in peas, season to taste, and let cool.
  • Prepare a 12 x 1/3 cup (80ml) muffin pan by lightly spraying it with cooking spray. Cut out 12 rounds each of 10cm and 5cm using a cutter. Place the larger rounds in the muffin pan to line them.
  • Fill pastry cases with the filling, top with small rounds, brush with egg wash, make a slit on top, then bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
