Buffalo-style Beef on Weck: Thinly sliced roast beef in au jus on salted caraway rolls.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups prepared au jus sauce
  • 2 pounds thinly sliced roast beef
  • 6 Kaiser rolls, split
  • 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
  • 0.25 cup prepared horseradish
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Lay rolls on a baking sheet, cut side down. Gently brush tops with water and sprinkle with salt and caraway seeds.
  • Toast in the preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Warm the au jus sauce in a saucepan over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes while the rolls are toasting. Then, add the roast beef and cook until heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Take the rolls out of the oven and place them on serving plates. Add warm beef and au jus sauce on top. Serve with horseradish on the side.
