Succulent beef, tender vegetables, and rich gravy enveloped in a golden, flaky crust - a savory beef pot pie masterpiece.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cubed
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
  • 3 large carrots, diced
  • 3 potatoes, cubed
  • 1 cup frozen green peas, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.33333334326744 cup water
  • 2 (9 inch) refrigerator pie crusts
Instructions:
  • Prepare all ingredients.
  • Sear meat in a saucepan until golden on all sides. Add enough water to nearly cover the meat. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to simmer until meat is fork-tender; 2 to 3 hours.
  • Place the meat in a large mixing bowl. Gently shred the meat and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  • In a separate 2-quart saucepan set over medium heat, combine beef broth, carrots, and potatoes. Cook until vegetables are nearly tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Transfer the cooked carrots and potatoes to the large mixing bowl with the beef, leaving the flavorful liquid in the pan. Mix in the peas to combine all the ingredients together.
  • Combine cornstarch with water until smooth. Add to beef broth in the saucepan, stirring constantly. Simmer, then cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Prepare a 9-inch pie plate with one pie crust as directed on the package. Fill with the beef mixture. Top with gravy and seal with the remaining pie crust.
  • Place in the preheated oven until the crust turns golden brown, approximately 25 minutes. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
