Elevate your BBQ game with vibrant Asian beef kebabs, ideal for hosting.
Ingredients:
  • 750g beef rump steak, trimmed
  • 131.25 gm soy sauce
  • 165.00 ml mirin
  • 40.00 ml sake
  • 40.00 gm caster sugar
  • 450g daikon radish*
  • 2 small carrots
  • 6.00 gm sesame seeds (black or white)
Instructions:
  • Slice the beef into thin strips on an angle. Skewer the strips and place them in a ceramic dish.
  • In a jug, mix together soy sauce, 1/2 cup of mirin, sake, and sugar. Pour this flavorful marinade over the beef. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor infusion.
  • Peel the radish and carrots, then cut them into 5cm lengths and thin strips. Transfer them to a bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds and the remaining 2 tablespoons of mirin. Mix well until fully combined.
  • Preheat a barbecue plate over medium-high heat. Take the skewers out of the marinade and grill for 2 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
