Spicy beef-stuffed mushrooms: savory meat and bread mix baked in mushroom caps for a delicious, popular appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 12 fresh mushrooms
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.25 cup bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Separate mushroom stems from caps and finely chop the stems.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is no longer pink; drain. Add chopped mushroom stems, 1 tablespoon butter, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and stir in cream.
  • Coat mushroom caps in a decadent 1/4 cup of melted butter, generously fill with the flavorful meat mixture, place in a baking dish, then top off with a sprinkle of chili powder for an extra kick.
  • Place in the hot oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
