Make quick and cheesy stuffed French bread burgers with ground beef and mushrooms on the skillet grill in 30 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 (4-oz.) can mushroom pieces and stems, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
  • 8 diagonally cut slices French bread (1/2 inch thick)
  • 4 (1-oz.) slices Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Mix ground beef, onion, mushrooms, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl until well combined. Shape into 4 oval patties, around 1/2 inch thick.
  • Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 10 to 12 minutes until fully cooked, flipping once. Remove the patties from the skillet and keep them warm. Dispose of the drippings, and wipe the skillet clean with paper towels.
  • Spread margarine on one side of each bread slice. Create 4 delicious sandwiches by layering cheese slices and ground beef patties with the margarine facing outwards.
  • Preheat the skillet over medium heat until hot, then add the sandwiches. Cook for about 1 minute on each side until the bread starts to brown and the sandwich is heated through. Serve with ketchup, mustard, or chili sauce, if desired.
