Berries with Warm Custard Sauce

Indulge guilt-free with this cholesterol-free and fat-free custard sauce recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sweetened applesauce
  • 2/3 cup fat-free cholesterol-free egg product
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 pints berries
Instructions:
  • Combine all ingredients, except for the berries, in a 2-quart heavy saucepan. Gently warm over low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture is just warmed through.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture for 10 minutes until it doubles in volume. Serve immediately over berries and refrigerate any extra sauce.
