Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and prepare your baking sheets by greasing them or lining them with parchment paper.
  • Combine and sift the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • Using an electric mixer, blend brown sugar, melted butter, and white sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, mixing until light and creamy. Incorporate flour mixture until dough is just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving 3 inches between each spoonful.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes until edges turn golden. Let the cookies cool briefly on the sheets before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
