Irresistibly juicy chicken lollipops, marinated in a flavorful red chili, garlic, and soy sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chile peppers
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 drop red food coloring
  • 10 chicken wings
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 quarts canola oil for frying, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine salt, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, green chiles, chili powder, and red food coloring in a large bowl and whisk until evenly blended.
  • Arrange the meat of each chicken wing to one end; add wings to marinade and toss gently to coat evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
  • Take the wings out of the marinade, allowing any extra to drip off; combine cornstarch with the marinade in a bowl to create a batter. Coat the wings by dipping them in the batter.
  • Gently submerge wings in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary, until golden and fully cooked, approximately 10 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the meat reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
