Delicious homemade crispy pork and vegetable egg rolls make the perfect side dish for any stir-fry meal, say goodbye to takeout!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder, or more to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 ounces shredded carrots
  • 1 quart peanut oil for frying, or as needed
  • 8 (7 inch square) egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, generously coat pork with fragrant ginger and garlic powder, mixing until fully blended.
  • In a medium skillet over medium heat, sauté the pork until nicely browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • In a large bowl, gently mix the cooked pork, cabbage, and carrots until the egg roll filling is thoroughly combined. In a separate small bowl, combine the flour and water to form a smooth paste.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • As oil heats up, assemble egg rolls: Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointing towards you in a diamond shape. Add 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
  • Wrap the bottom corner up and over the filling, then fold the left and right corners towards the center. Roll the egg roll away from you towards the top corner.
  • Coat the inside corner with a touch of the flour paste to securely seal the egg roll.
  • Fry egg rolls in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 5 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels or a rack.
  • Arrange the egg rolls elegantly on a platter and generously sprinkle sesame seeds on top for a delicious finishing touch.
