Crispy and succulent chicken fried in a crunchy cornstarch coating with a flavorful condensed soup batter.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 large egg
  • seasoning salt to taste
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • oil for frying
Instructions:
  • In a shallow dish or bowl, stir together condensed soup, egg, and seasoning salt (be cautious as the soup is pre-salted) until well combined. Dip chicken into the mixture, ensuring it is thoroughly coated, and set aside.
  • Combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a resealable plastic bag. Add chicken pieces one by one, seal the bag, and shake well to coat evenly. Adjust with equal parts of flour and cornstarch if needed.
  • Preheat a deep-fryer or large saucepan with oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C, making sure it's enough to fully cover the chicken pieces.
  • Transfer the coated chicken onto a platter and let it rest until the coating becomes doughy. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy texture when frying. To check if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of the coating into it; the oil is hot enough if the coating starts frying instantly.
  • Fry chicken pieces in batches in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 7 to 10 minutes. Place on paper towels to drain excess oil and serve.
