Satisfying three-bean hot dish, ideal for potlucks, stays warm in slow cooker.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (15 ounce) can butter beans, drained
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 pound bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pork and beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
Instructions:
  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, flipping occasionally, until evenly browned, for about 10 minutes. Place the cooked bacon on paper towels to drain and cool. Then, crumble the bacon and wipe out the skillet with a paper towel.
  • Brown and crumble ground beef in a hot skillet for 5 to 7 minutes. Discard grease, then add onion and cook until clear, about 5 minutes.
  • In a slow cooker, mix together crispy bacon, cooked beef, pork and beans, kidney beans, butter beans, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard. Stir well and cook on High for approximately 1 hour, or until heated through.
