Velvety vegetarian gravy made with butter, flour, and milk - perfect for brunch with biscuits!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.66666668653488 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 quarts milk
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 0.5 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt butter. Whisk in flour until smooth for at least 2 minutes. Slowly pour in milk, whisking constantly until mixture is smooth for about 5 minutes.
  • Pour half-and-half into the saucepan, season with salt and pepper, and add liquid smoke. Cook and stir until gravy is smooth and slightly thickened, for 2 to 3 more minutes.
