Big Bowl Brownie Dessert

Indulge in rich fudgy brownie bites with tart cherries and fluffy whipped cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • 2 cups (1 pint) whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling with more fruit
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350° F (or 325° F for dark or nonstick pan). Line a 9-inch square pan with foil, leaving some to hang over the edges. Grease the foil with shortening or cooking spray. Follow the brownie mix instructions for baking. Allow the brownies to cool completely on a rack for about 1 1/2 hours.
  • In a spacious chilled bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Be cautious not to overbeat. In a separate small bowl, mix pie filling with 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.
  • Gently lift the brownies from the pan using the foil, then cut them into 1-inch pieces. In a 3-quart glass bowl, layer half of the brownies, followed by cherry pie filling and half of the whipped cream. Add the remaining brownies and whipped cream on top, then sprinkle with almonds. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, but no more than 12 hours. Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
