Savory and simple chicken dish with rich, oriental flavors from fermented black beans. Perfect for a tasty dinner paired with fresh rice or noodles.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup fresh ginger root, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fermented black beans, minced
  • 0.5 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 4 cups fresh white mushrooms
  • 0.5 tablespoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh chives
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, warm olive oil. Add garlic, ginger, black beans, green onion, and green pepper. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until garlic is fragrant and slightly golden.
  • Add the drumsticks to the pan and fry them for 5 minutes. Then, mix in the mushrooms and season everything with salt and pepper. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium-low heat until the chicken is fully cooked and the juices run clear.
  • Once the chicken is fully cooked, add the sesame oil and fresh chives, then take it off the heat and serve.
