Spiced raisin and nut cookies with a twist of black pepper for added flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 2.5 cups raisins
  • 2 tablespoons chopped candied citron
  • 0.33333334326744 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs and brown sugar until smooth. Mix in flour, baking soda, salt, spices, and pepper. Fold in nuts, raisins, and citron until combined. Pour the egg-sugar mixture into the flour mixture and mix until a stiff dough forms. Chill the dough before using.
  • Roll the dough into balls using a rounded teaspoon and floured hands. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
