Delicious blackberry and red wine sorbet for a refreshing treat.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1.5 pounds fresh blackberries
  • 0.5 cup semi-dry fruity red wine, such as Sangiovese
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, gently warm the sugar and water over medium-low heat until the sugar is fully dissolved, creating a smooth simple syrup. Allow it to cool before using.
  • Blend the blackberries until smooth, then strain the mixture to remove seeds and pulp. Combine the strained blackberry juice, simple syrup, and red wine in a bowl. Refrigerate until cold before serving.
  • Chill in the ice cream maker's freezer canister following the manufacturer's instructions.
