Cook buttery Cajun blackened salmon for a flavorful twist on a classic dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons ground paprika
  • 1 tablespoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 salmon fillets, skin and bones removed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Combine paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, white pepper, black pepper, thyme, basil, and oregano in a small bowl, creating a flavorful spice blend.
  • Coat salmon fillets in luscious butter and generously season with the spice mixture.
  • In a large, heavy skillet over high heat, sizzle 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Lay salmon in the skillet and sear until blackened, about 2 to 5 minutes. Gently lift the fillets, pour in the remaining melted butter, and coat the salmon by flipping it in the butter. Finish cooking until the other side is blackened and the fish is flaky when pierced with a fork, for about 3 to 5 minutes.
