Blue Cheese Walnut Toasts

Delicious little toasts make perfect appetizers or salad croutons.
Ingredients:
  • 1 French baguette, cut into 1/3 inch thick slices
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread melted butter on one side of each slice of bread, then place butter side up on a baking sheet. Bake for about 7 minutes until lightly toasted.
  • Combine the blue cheese, softened butter, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Spread this flavorful mixture over the toasted bread slices, and top with chopped walnuts for an added crunch.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 6 minutes, or until the topping is melted and bubbly. Transfer to a serving tray and sprinkle with chopped parsley for a finishing touch.
