Delicious Dutch buttercake infused with rich butter, zesty lemon, and fragrant vanilla.
Ingredients:
  • 1.125 cups butter, softened
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 1.25 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 2 tablespoons grated lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a 10 inch loaf pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • Combine zesty grated lemon rind with a tablespoon of sugar.
  • Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  • Combine the flour and baking powder, then gently fold into the butter and egg mixture. Transfer the batter to the greased loaf pan.
  • Bake the cake until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean, which should take about 60 to 75 minutes.
