Indulgent bourbon bread pudding with raisins, hazelnuts, and cinnamon layers.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs, beaten slightly
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 12 cups dry bread cubes
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped hazelnuts
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup bourbon whiskey
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup butter in milk until fully combined, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and salt using a whisk until thoroughly mixed. Add the milk mixture followed by the bread cubes, raisins, and hazelnuts. Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes before transferring it to a 9x13-inch baking dish without greasing it.
  • Bake without a cover until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Once the pudding is in the oven, combine brown sugar, 1 cup of butter, and bourbon whiskey in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil and the sugar is completely dissolved, which should take about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Drizzle the sauce generously over the warm bread pudding before serving.
