Elevate dark chocolate brownie mix with brandy-soaked cherries and hazelnuts into luxurious bite-sized candies, ideal for gifting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1/3 cup brandy
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
  • 3/4 cup hazelnuts (filberts), toasted, skins removed and nuts chopped
  • 12 oz semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup hazelnut spread with cocoa
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch square pan. In a small saucepan, gently simmer cherries and brandy over medium heat. Remove from heat and allow to sit for 15 minutes.
  • Prepare the brownie mix per the package instructions by combining water, oil, and egg. Stir in cherries, any leftover brandy, and 1/2 cup of hazelnuts. Pour the batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan on a cooling rack for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Prepare a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Using a spoon, form the brownie mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared cookie sheet.
  • Place the baking chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on High for 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds until melted. Mix in the hazelnut spread until smooth. Dip the brownie balls individually into the chocolate mixture using a fork, letting the excess drip off. Place them back on the cookie sheet and sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup of hazelnuts. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
