Transform milk into versatile ingredient for cooking and baking!
Ingredients:
  • 450g plain flour
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 40g butter
  • 250ml milk
  • 20.00 ml (14g/2 sachets) dried yeast
  • 10.00 gm caster sugar
  • Plain flour, to dust
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add butter and rub it into the flour using your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • In a jug, mix milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add this mixture to the flour and stir until combined. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Oil a large bowl. Put the dough in the bowl and cover with a damp tea towel. Let it rest in a warm, draft-free spot for 1 hour or until the dough doubles in size.
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. 2. Gently punch the center of the dough, then transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead for 2 minutes until smooth. 3. Divide the dough into eight equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. 4. Arrange the dough balls on a lightly floured baking tray and let them rest for 10 minutes to rise.
  • Gently brush rolls with water and sprinkle with flour. Bake for 5 minutes, then lower the heat to 180°C and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until rolls are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
