Brigadeiros
0 Likes
Delicious Brazilian truffles, Brigadeiros were originally made by Brigadier Eduardo Gomes' wife for his fundraisers in the 1940s, and became a hit with guests.
Ingredients:
  • 400 g condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • good-quality chocolate sprinkles for coating
Instructions:
  • In a heavy-based saucepan, combine condensed milk, sifted cocoa powder, and ¼ teaspoon of sea salt. Cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring until thick, shiny, and pull away from the sides of the pan. Be attentive to prevent burning. Remove from heat, stir in butter, and add scraped vanilla seeds. Cool, cover, chill for 30 minutes. Form 20g balls, coat with chocolate sprinkles, and place in mini cupcake cases. Serve at room temperature for the best flavor.
