Broccoli and Sausage Cavatelli

Spicy cavatelli with sausage and broccoli - a crowd favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound spicy Italian sausage
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (16 ounce) package cavatelli pasta
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
  • Brown and crumble sausage in a skillet over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove sausage with a slotted spoon onto a paper towel-lined plate, then drain excess grease from the skillet.
  • In the same skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic in the fragrant oil until it turns golden, then take it off the heat.
  • 1. Bring a generously salted large pot of water to a vigorous boil. Cook pasta until al dente for 8 to 10 minutes. Add broccoli during the final 3 minutes of cooking. Drain pasta and broccoli together.
  • Combine sausage, garlic-infused olive oil, cavatelli, broccoli, and Parmesan cheese in a large bowl, and sprinkle with red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
