Elevate your meal with broccoli rabe on crusty bread topped with fennel sausage, garlic, and lemon for a burst of flavor and culinary excitement!
Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch broccoli rabe, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound fennel sausage links, cut into pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 0.25 cup fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Boil broccoli rabe and salt in a large pot until stems are tender, about 12 minutes. Save 1 cup of liquid before draining.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, heat up 3 tablespoons of olive oil and brown the sausage evenly for about 10 minutes.
  • Take out the sausage from the saucepan. Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. Add broccoli rabe and the reserved cup of liquid to the pan. Mix in half of the lemon juice. Put the sausage back into the pan and let it simmer for around 10 minutes. Finish by stirring in the remaining olive oil and lemon juice before serving.
