Broccoli Casserole with Rice

Ingredients:
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped broccoli
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups instant rice
  • 0.75 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar process cheese sauce
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Prepare the rice according to package instructions.
  • Cook the onions in margarine until they are tender and translucent.
  • Prepare the broccoli according to package instructions, then strain any excess liquid.
  • Combine the broccoli, soup, rice, onion, butter or margarine, and cheese in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to your liking. Transfer the mixture to a 9 by 13 inch oven proof dish.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-40 minutes.
