Create a decadent brookie bar with brownie batter and cookie dough for a fun and easy treat.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.33333334326744 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
  • Prepare all ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Make the cookie layer: Cream together 1/2 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of white sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in one egg until the mixture is light and creamy, this should take about 2 minutes.
  • In a bowl, whisk together 1 1/4 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and baking soda. Gradually mix the flour mixture into the butter mixture until a dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread the dough evenly in the baking dish and set aside.
  • To make the brownie layer, combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a bowl. Beat in two eggs until smooth. Mix in cocoa powder until fully incorporated. Stir in 1/2 cup flour, baking powder, and 1/8 teaspoon salt until well combined. Pour the batter over the cookie layer and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, for about 20 to 25 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting into 20 bars. Enjoy!
