Upgrade your Thanksgiving table with sweet and savory brown sugar bacon green beans, a delicious alternative to traditional green bean casserole.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon, or more to taste
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable seasoning salt (such as McCormick® Vegetable Supreme® Seasoning)
  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and halved
  • salt to taste
Instructions:
  • Fry bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until crispy, about 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer bacon to a paper towel to drain, saving 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings. Crumble the bacon.
  • 1. Boil water in a skillet. Mix in brown sugar, vegetable seasoning, and bacon drippings; stir until sugar dissolves, around 2 minutes. Add green beans and bacon; season with salt. Simmer until green beans are tender to your liking, about 10 minutes.
