Budget-friendly, effortless, and tasty chicken pie!
Ingredients:
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1 large potato, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cups cubed, cooked chicken
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Divide the dough into 2 pieces and form them into balls. Roll out one ball of dough to match the size of a 9-inch pie plate for the bottom crust. Roll out the second ball of dough for the top crust and keep it ready.
  • Saute the shredded carrot, potato, and minced onion in a large saucepan until soft, then set aside to cool.
  • Combine the chopped chicken, chicken broth, salt, and pepper, then spread the mixture over the bottom crust. Top with the second crust, seal, and crimp the edges.
  • Bake until golden brown in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
