Versatile butter cookie recipe, great for baking with kids - drop, press, or slice!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2.6666667461395 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to whip butter and sugar until fluffy. Add an egg and vanilla, then fold in flour and salt until a dough forms. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cool two cookie sheets in the fridge.
  • Take the cold dough and load it into a cookie press, then squeeze it out onto chilled cookie sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the edges turn lightly golden, for about 8 to 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool.
