Banana cinnamon bread with delicious buttermilk twist.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 2 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup mashed ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease and flour a loaf pan.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon by sifting them together in a bowl.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, making sure to fully incorporate each egg before adding the next. Mix in bananas and vanilla. Gradually add buttermilk while mixing continuously until smooth. Stir in the flour mixture until a smooth batter forms. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
