Elevate breakfast with delicious banana bread topped with tangy Buttermilk Syrup.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 loaf banana bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh berries
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, combine all syrup ingredients until fully blended. Bring to a boil and cook for 7 minutes, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and whisk in vanilla. Keep warm.
  • Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cut your banana bread into thick 1-inch slices. In a shallow dish or pan, whisk together eggs and milk until well combined. Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture, ensuring they are coated on both sides. Place the coated bread slices onto the hot skillet and cook until they are golden brown on each side.
