Kid-friendly French toast, perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients:
  • 12 thick slices white bread
  • 84.98 gm milk
  • 1.25 gm ground cinnamon
  • 40g unsalted butter
  • 3 bananas, sliced diagonally
  • Maple syrup, to serve
Instructions:
  • Cut out star shapes from the bread slices using a 9cm star-shaped cutter. Combine eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a bowl. Prepare a baking tray with baking paper.
  • Dip each bread star in the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated and letting the extra drip off. Place on the prepared tray and continue with the rest of the bread stars and egg mixture.
  • Melt half of the butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat until it foams. Cook the bread stars in batches for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown, adding more butter if necessary. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  • Arrange slices of star fruit and banana on plates in a decorative manner. Generously drizzle with maple syrup. Enjoy immediately.
