Festive Butternut Squash Bake with Apple and Cranberries - a must-have for any holiday meal!
Ingredients:
  • 1 large butternut squash, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 large tart cooking apples (like Granny Smith), peeled and cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (half a stick) butter
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg or mace
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly butter a 7x11-inch baking dish.
  • Combine the flour, brown sugar, salt, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
  • Create a beautiful and flavorful arrangement in the baking dish: Start with a layer of freshly cut butternut squash at the bottom of the dish. Next, arrange a layer of apples and then sprinkle with cranberries. Finally, top everything off with the mixture of flour and brown sugar, and dot with butter for a rich and indulgent finish.
  • Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
