Holiday pie that will have everyone asking for seconds. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.33300000429153 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • 1 dash ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, flour, salt, and water until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring consistently until the mixture thickens. Stir in berries, lemon juice, and cinnamon, and cook for 5 minutes until the berries burst. Remove from heat and gently fold in the butter until melted.
  • Roll out one ball of dough to fit a 9 inch pie plate. Transfer the bottom crust to the pie plate. Spoon in the filling and top with lattice strips made from the rolled out second crust. Seal the edges.
  • Place the dish in the already heated oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust turns a beautiful golden brown.
