Quick and easy gingerbread cookies made with spice cake mix. Perfect for a fun and creative activity with kids!
Ingredients:
  • 1 package Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Spice Cake Mix
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.33333334326744 cup dark molasses
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • non-pareils
  • 1 tub Duncan Hines® Creamy Home-Style Vanilla Icing
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, flour, eggs, oil, molasses, and ginger until soft. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Use a gingerbread man cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle nonpareil sprinkles for decoration.
  • Place in the oven already preheated for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges begin to turn golden brown. Transfer to a cooling rack right away.
  • Put the icing in a zip-top freezer bag and snip a small hole in one corner. Use it to pipe a face and ruffles onto each cookie.
