Delightful Halloween cake pops resembling candy corn with Betty Crocker cake mix and fluffy white frosting on a stick.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 5 cups yellow candy melts
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2 cups orange candy melts
  • 1 cup white candy melts
  • 72 paper lollipop sticks
  • Block of plastic foam
Instructions:
  • Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box for a 13x9-inch pan using water, oil, and eggs. Allow the cake to cool. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Break the cake into pieces in a large bowl and combine with frosting until well mixed. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and shape each ball into a triangle by flattening the sides to resemble candy corn. Arrange the triangles on the cookie sheet. Freeze until firm, then store in the refrigerator.
  • 1. Microwave yellow candy melts and 2 tablespoons of shortening in a microwavable bowl on Medium (50%) for 1 minute. Stir until smooth. If not melted, continue in 15-second intervals. 2. Repeat the melting process with orange and white candy melts using 1 tablespoon of shortening for each. 3. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted yellow candy and insert it into the base of a cake triangle, not more than halfway. Repeat for all triangles and refrigerate for 5 minutes. 4. Take a few triangles at a time. Dip them into the yellow candy, tap off excess, and secure the sticks into a foam block to set. 5. Dip two-thirds of each triangle into the orange candy and let it set. 6. Finally, dip the tips of the triangles into the white candy and let them set.
