Surprise-filled cupcakes with candy corn frosting and colorful sprinkles on top.
Ingredients:
  • 24 brown regular-size paper baking cups
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1/3 cup yellow candy sprinkles
  • 1/3 cup orange candy sprinkles
  • 1/3 cup white candy sprinkles
  • 2 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Red and yellow liquid food colors
  • 24 pieces candy corn
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with brown paper baking cups. Prepare cake batter according to box instructions and evenly distribute it among the muffin cups. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a rack for about 30 minutes.
  • Hollow out the center of each cupcake using a melon baller about 1 inch deep. Fill each cavity with 1/2 teaspoon each of yellow, orange, and white sprinkles.
  • Transfer 2/3 cup of frosting into a resealable plastic bag. Cut a small corner off. Divide the rest of the frosting equally into 2 small bowls. Add 20 drops of yellow liquid food color to one bowl and 12 drops of yellow and 4 drops of red liquid food color to the other bowl to create orange. Place each colored frosting into separate resealable plastic bags. Cut a small corner off each bag.
  • Generously pipe yellow frosting onto each cupcake, completely covering the sprinkles. Add a dollop of orange frosting on top, then a dollop of white frosting. Finish by adorning each cupcake with a piece of candy corn.
